At the age of 17, she started playing darts at the county youth level; her parents, Steve and Sue, had done so as a pastime. At the 2011 WDF Europe Cup Youth event, she competed for the Bedford Darts Organization and the England Youth squad in the girls’ singles section.
Sherrock won the Women’s Jersey Open and the Girls World Masters in 2012, and she then triumphed in the Women’s British Classic in 2013. She decided to focus on darts instead of studying forensic science in college after completing her A-levels.
In January 2014, she made the Quarterfinals in her debut appearance at the BDO World Championship. She defeated Rilana Erades in the opening round by a score of 2 sets to 0 before losing to reigning champion Anastasia Dobromyslova in the quarterfinals.
Sherrock advanced to the final of the 2015 BDO Ladies World Championship after defeating Dobromyslova 2-1 in the semifinals at Lakeside. In the semifinal, Sherrock set a world championship record by striking five 180s, improving upon her achievement from the first round.
Sherrock competed in her first World Championship final but fell to Lisa Ashton 3-1 after making an impression and hitting six 180s.

Sherrock defeated Ted Evetts 3-2 in the opening round of the 2020 World Championship on December 17, 2019, making history as the first female to defeat a man at the PDC World Championships. She then defeated the 11th seed Mensur Suljovi 3-1 in the next round before falling to the 22nd seed Chris Dobey 4-2 in the next.
Sherrock withdrew from the 2020 BDO Women’s World Champi onship on December 31, 2019, citing “unanticipated alterations” to the competition.
Sherrock was additionally invited to take part in the pro-am doubles competition Die Promi-Darts-WM on German television network ProSieben immediately following the World Championships with Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Max Hopp, and newly crowned world champion Peter Wright at the Maritim Hotel in Bonn.
Sherrock went 1-3 in the competition while teaming up with former Italy striker and World Cup victor Luca Toni. Sherrock competed at the 2020 PDC Q School for a tour card but was unsuccessful. Sherrock qualified for the 2020 UK Open on February 1 by winning the Rileys Wolverhampton qualification, which allowed her to make her debut there.
In the opening round, she was defeated 1-6 by Northern Ireland’s Kyle McKinstry. As a “challenger,” Sherrock competed in the 2020 Premier League Darts on February 13, 2020, at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, where she drew 6-6 with Glen Durrant.
She lost out to Deta Hedman on legs difference, and as a result, she was unable to compete in the 2021 PDC World Championship.
Sherrock competed in the 2021 Nordic Darts Masters final in September 2021. She won a 6-1 decision over Niels Heinse in the opening round. When Gerwyn Price withdrew from their quarterfinal match due to an elbow ailment, she received a walkover.
After falling behind 9-3, she came back to defeat world no. 5 Dimitri Van den Bergh in the semifinals 11-10. In the end, she was defeated by Michael van Gerwen 11-7. (although having led 6–3). Sherrock is the only female PDC player to have ever advanced to a TV tournament final.
Sherrock participated in the first 2021 Women’s Series competitions just a week before her run to the Nordic Masters final.
Sherrock earned a top-two finish in the PDC Women’s Series in October 2021, which earned her a spot in the 2022 World Championship. In the opening round, she was defeated 3-2 by Steve Beaton.
Sherrock won the first Women’s World Matchplay in July 2022 after defeating Katie Sheldon and Lorraine Winstanley on her way to the championship match, when she defeated Aileen de Graaf 6-3. Sherrock qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts in 2022 thanks to the victory.
After placing third in the PDC Women’s Series, Sherrock appeared to have missed out on qualifying for the 2023 PDC World Darts Championship.
Sherrock’s first-round opponent at the World Championship was drawn to be Ricky Evans. She won the first set, but ultimately fell short 3-1.
